Someone recently asked me how I would like to be remembered. I had
never really thought about this before. This image is my attempt to
answer to the question. Here I see myself
spending a long weekend hiking across a gently sloping, endless
field of wildflowers and butterflies, into a sunrise partially
obscured by cotton candy soft clouds. My
pack contains enough essentials for a long weekend: the usual
overnight gear (bedroll, stove, cookware, water filter, toiletries,
raingear, etc.), pencils and papers to write and sketch on, and a
small camera. As this is a fairly short trip it would be proper to
bring along a large loaf of hearty dark bread, a thick wedge of tangy
cheese, and a bottle of properly aged wine. After all, Just because I
am traveling in the wilderness does not mean that I must travel in an
uncivilized manner. A Bryce 5 Landscape with a
bearded male backpacker figure made in Poser 4. Final editing done in
Paint Shop Pro 7. This is possibly my most dramatic sunrise to
date. Originally the figure was in full silhouette. I experimented
further and came up with this arrangement which I prefer.
The way the light strikes the edges of the figure hints at what is
hidden in the shadows and makes for more of a three dimensional
effect.. Feel free to Comment away! I enjoy knowing what you
think of my work.
