Privacy Statement for Twilight Realms

Information about visitors to this website is collected in order to let me plan for, and provide, enhancements to this web site in a timely and cost effective manner.

Here are some examples of how I have used this information:

1) When the number of visitors with desktop resolutions set at 800x600 or higher represented the majority of viewers, I started creating wallpaper graphic files in the 800x600 and larger sizes. This is why some of my earlier images are only available in a 640x480 size.

2) When the number of visitors with color depths (how many colors are on your screen at once) set at 16 bit or higher represented the majority of viewers, I stopped only 256 colors in an image and switched to a 32 bit color depth - which looks fine at 16 and 24 bit depths as well.

3) When a new web page are released I try to streamline their loading to give you the best  viewing experience possible. Monitoring things such as how many times a page is loaded vs. being reloaded helps tell me if I need to make the file sizes smaller (which reduces image quality).

Instead of providing a long and drawn out discussion on the matter, I thought the best way to earn my viewers acceptance of this monitoring is to simply share the results with them. I have set a policy of 100% disclosure on the data that is gathered. At the very bottom the the "Welcome" page is a picture that looks like a blue globe with a line through it. You may click on it to see the statistics I get. I use a free data gathering service, and about 1/3 of the data gathered is used by me at this time.

As always, your feedback is welcome. Hopefully my decision to share my information with you, in its entirety, will prove to be the "right thing" to do.
